A light at the End of the Earth

Try not to get confused by the title. I don't mean the Finisterra cape, in Spain, but Lindesnes, the southernmost (if I am not mistaken) in Norway.

Back to the land of the cold, snow and fiords, and I started again my journeys around this country. The first place to visit was Lindesnes. It is a small island near Kristiansand, a southern region, by the sea.
After 7 hours driving, a birthday party full of people I didn't know and a very nice night of sleep, we went discovering Sørlandet.
I was amazed by the granitic landscapes and the early spring weather (no snow, temperatures above 0...) and most important...the North sea!

The place is a small rocky island with a lighthouse on the top. The weather, when we arrived, was so windy, I could barely stand. I've never felt such a strong wind! After climbing some rocks and looking directly at the waves, I felt at home. The foam, the salty water sprinkling my face, the scent of the sea, the waves bashing on to the rocks, the music...at the end of the earth!
I had seen the sea previously, during my stay in this country, however, it wasn't the one I am used to: the western portuguese coast: big waves, sandy beaches and high cliffs. What I have seen was a lake-like sea: still water, stones instead of sand, no waves, no scent...

After seeing the almost familiar sea, I felt like home. After thinking about the reasons that drove me to feel like that, I felt it has something to do with our (portuguese) history, forever related to the sea. I believe that there is something on our blood that connects us deeply, with heart and soul to the waves of the everlasting, misterious, endless sea. But these are only crazy thoughts of a portuguese who missed the sea....

Hadet bra!

From the Ashes Reborn

Greetings to all of you!

After a long long time, like the phoenixs that arises from the ashes, I returned to the blog world!
I decided to change the original blog (oestrimnis.blogspot.com) to something else, something different, I don't know...I needed a change! I thought that a new face would become handy to the development of this small internet place.
I have new projects, new ideas and new posts coming out more frequently.

See you really really soon!
and with more pictures!=)
